Originally
trained as a classical guitarist, Didier Carmier is a performer
and composer whose current verve includes a variety of genres:
Afro-Cuban, Brazilian, Flamenco, and Jazz.
As
a composer, he was winner of the Billboard Song Contest
in 1996 for his song "Cada Dia Mas" with lyricist
Raul Sebazco. He has also composed the score of the short
film "EAT," by New York director Bill Plympton,
a winner at the 2001 Cannes festival.
Didier
has recorded soundtracks for television and film for Warner
Chapell Music France, and performs regularly for Broadway
shows such as Les Miserables.
He
studied classical guitar with Alberto Ponce at L ecole Normale
de Musique de Paris, composition with the late French composer
Gerard Grisey, and orchestration at the University of Paris,
St Denis.
